Kaalee raised an eyebrow and went and put on a purple sweater dress, a belt, some leggings, and black knee high heels. She put some earings in and a little bit of eyeshadow before going out to her living room. She called Paige on her cell and waited for her to pick up.
"Hello?" Paige said, her voice muffled.
"Hey, we're going out for dinner, you wanna come with?" Kaalee asked her.
"Um, kinda busy. I'm trying to find Nara." She told her and Kaalee frowned.
"Fine then, if you want to waste Thanksgiving." Kaalee said, getting annoyed.
"Whatever Kaalee...go have fun with your cop." Paige muttered, hanging up on her.

Jay waved his wand, and all of the food (including the turkey that he had cooked magically) transported itself to church in a basket. Then, he set the dishes about washing themselves while he rubbed his hands down his face in an attempt to wake up.

"You know if you're tired you should sleep." She told him from the doorway to the kitchen, watching him wash dishes.
"And leave those, I'll get to them later." Kaalee told him, magically making them disappear.

He looked up as he yawned. "Oh, excuse me. You look nice! No, I'll be fine until tonight, I'll just get a coffee when we get to my apartment, then I'll make it through dinner. You don't need to worry about me falling asleep in my soup or something." He held out his arm for her to take so they could separate together. "Are you ready or are we waiting for Paige?"

He smiled, and turned on the spot. The next time they reappeared, they were standing in the middle of his large apartment. To the left were floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the busy Boston street. Jay unhooked his arm from Kaalee's and told her to make herself at home whilehe showered and got dressed. "There's a tv over in the living room, if you want. I won't be very long!" he called over his shoulder as he hurried into the master bedroom.
Jay jumped in the shower and took two minutes to wash his hair and body. Then, he threw on a pair of black slacks, a silk olive green button down with the top button unbuttoned and no tie, but tucked into his pants.
He brushed his teeth and shaved before going back out of his room

"You clean up good monsieur." She told him, laughing slightly.

He grinned and spun around slowly for her. "You like what you see? Because I'm liking what I see. You don't look too shabby yourself, ma'am."

"Well, I'd hope! " He chuckled. "I have lived here my whole life, and I grew up as a muggle for part of it. Anyway, de're going to this great steakhouse. Seriously, theirfood is phenomenal. you do eat meat don't you?"

"Just thought I would ask! You never know with people nowadays. And we shall." he took her hand and apparated them to an alley near the waterfront steakhouse, letting go of her hand as soon as he was sure she was steady. "Stick close to me; I know the owner and he'll get us seats with a good view."
He led the way in, and the hostess smiled brightly whenshe saw him. "Mr. Collins! Such a surprise to see you here tonight. Would you like your usual table?"
"That would be wondeful, Nikki," he grinned back before winking at Kaalee.
"Roght, then, follow me, if you would." Nikki led them to a small, two-person table in from of a large window looking out over the bay. "Whay can I get you two for drinks?"
"A glass of chianti for me, if you would. Unless, you would like some, Kaalee, an then we can get a bottle."

She laughed before he turned. She followed him into the restaurant, and sat down across from him.
"Actually I'll have a glass of Cabernet, sil vous plaît." She said, smiling.

"The lady has spoken" Jay smiled at Nikki who grinned back and wrote the two wine orders down on her little tablet.
"Reg will be your server tonight. Mr. Collins, ma'am, have a wonderful evening" she smiled before turning and walking toward the bar.

@Realy, it's no problem! I'm glad I didn't have to spend Thanksgiving alone, and you're going through a rough time so it worked out perfectly for the both of us. How funny is it that we're sitting here, being civil with one another, when just yesterday you were easy to tear my throat out and I, you!"

"Like I said, I'm like that with everyone. I don't know why, I guess it's just self defense." She shrugged.
"So, tell me, why do you, if you live in Boston, work in the Fresno office?" She asked him, raising an eyebrow at hi.

"Because I can travel anywhere I like, and there's something about the combination of new and old in Boston that just makes me feel like I'm in the right place. I feel at home in Boston. Plus, I have connections in the Fresno office, and it's pretty much the headquarters for the OMLE. you know the Pentagon for Muggles and Washington DC? the Fresno offices like that for us."
Reg came with the drinks but bustled off before taking their orders. Jay sipped his wine. "How about you, why are you in America if you're from Britain?"

"I lived here with my aunt for awhile, and when she died.. I didn't want to leave my shop so I bought the apartment over it and decided to stay here. But mostly it was because I have a lot of bad memories in Briton, and even France. So if it wasn't here it be some where just equally as random" Kaalee shrugged, .
"So...why Law Enforcement?" She asked him.

"So you just needed to get out, to get away. I understand. Law enforcement..." Jay laughed, "well, I guess you could call it a family business. My dad and uncle and grandfather were all Chief of Police at their muggle police departments, and my cousin, who is a wizard, is in the MLE with me. It's a family business"

Reg came by again and refilled their glasses while asking what they would like to order. "I'll take the filet mignon, medium rare, with the red skinned mashed potatoes and a salad with Italian dressing on the side" Jay didn't even need to look at the menu.

"I'll have the eight oz. Prime Rib with a Caesar Salad." She said, smiling. He went to go put her order in so she turned her attention back to Jay.
"What was it like, not knowing you were a wizard?" She asked him, curious.

He took a sip of his wine as hebrhoighr about how to put it into words lI suppose it was...scary. I didn't know why I could make all of this stuff happen but nobody else could. my parents didn't know about magic since we weren't close with my cousin's family. My mom cried every time something strange happened, and my dad would get this funny--well, it's funny now, it was depressing then--worried and scared look on his face. I once," he broke off laughing at the memory, "sorry, but I once burned t eyelashes and eyebrows off when I was playing with the fire in our fireplace, and I cried for hours because my face hurt and everyone would laugh when they saw me because I looked so stupid. The next morning, I woke up, and my eyebrows had grown in, except they were really thick and bushy and I only had one solid eyebrow. it was awful."
